Youth Ministry

Sunday School

Emanuel Lutheran Church holds its Sunday School program
from 9:15 - 10:15 each Sunday morning. We currently hold classes for 3 year olds through high school age students using Augsburg's "Life Together" curriculum. Our Sunday School program services approximately 110 students. The Sunday School is under the direction of Michelle Dille and Laura Ellis and a staff of dedicated teachers and helpers. Each new year is started off with Rally Day in August.

Confirmation Class

Emanuel's confirmation program is an intensive three year study.
Beginning in sixth grade, students memorize verses, visit other congregations, serve in the congregation as acolytes, and work to understand their Christian faith. Our Confirmation ceremony is traditionally held the first Sunday after Easter. This program is planned by the lay teachers, Mrs. Sue Kruse, Mrs. Julie Kohout, Mrs. Sandy Weirauch, and Mrs. Juanita Clausen in conjunction with the Pastor.

YCC

Young Christians for Christ is a youth group for fourth through
eighth grade students. These youngsters meet together on the third Sunday of each month to help build their faith and relationships among other youth in the congregation. Some activities include ice skating, canoeing, bowling, and hayrides. This group will be led by Marv and Julie MtCastle.

High School Youth Group

This group meets several times a month for fun spiritual activities, which help lead up to the National Youth Gathering held every third year. These young people hold fundraisers, do service projects for the congregation and the community, attend Christian concerts and other youth retreats. Patrick and Jody Dille direct this program.

Vacation Bible School

VBS is a week long, fun filled, Bible adventure for kids 3 years through fifth grade. VBS is held in late July or early August and culminates in a children's program of music and skits on the last night.

After School Club

After School Club is a program held for first through fifth grade students each Wednesday from 3:00 - 5:30. After School Club engages children in bible study, prayer, crafts, music, snack, and free time. This program is run by many wonderful volunteers who love to work with these young people. Julie Yunker is the chairperson of this year's program.
