The Fall Retreat will be held on Saturday, October 8 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
in Ridgeville Corners. Speaker will be Pastor Vicki Coombs on the topic, "India".

General Meeting
Our next General Meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. on September 1. Mark your calendars.
We will have the election of officers, and Pastor Castello will lead us in this first
Bible Study of our new series. Members of the Ruth Circle will be hostesses.
Nominating Committee
If you are called by one of our Nominating Committee members to serve, please give
prayerful consideration to their request.
Reminder
We will discontinue taking part in Meal on Wheels after our December commitment as
discussed at our last meeting.
Thankoffering
Are you saving your pennies and nickels (or even dollars!)?
Nancy Lange, President
August 2005
Boy, when summer arrived - the hot, humid, mostly sunny weather has prevailed!
Hope you all are staying cool!
Our Nominating Committee, Darlene Bostelman, Nanette Schwab and Dorothy Smith, will be
making calls to find positions for Vice President, Secretary, Mission Action and Altar
Guild. Please prayerfully consider serving. It's always good to make new friends,
learn more about the women's group and the details of serving on the Altar Guild and
serving the Lord.
The sewing group meets monthly to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Check the
church calendar for date and time and join them. A few extra hands are always welcome!
The sewing ladies - and Al - are always in need of old sheets. These are used for the
backing or the inside of the quilts. Also, they can use any fabric or clothes for the
tops. This is where Al Duquette comes in! He cuts and tears apart the fabric and clothes
for the quilts. So, go through your closets, bring your bags of goodies marked "quilts"
and leave them in the basement. All donations will be appreciated!
Our next General Meeting is September 1 at 7:30 p.m. with the Ruth Circle in charge of
refreshments. Election of officers and Bible Study are on the agenda. Bible Study will
be led by Pastor Castello. The theme for the nine-month study is "Act Boldly in the
Fruit of the Spirit", based on Galatians 5:22-23. "The fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control",
Paul writes in Galatians. Mark your calendars - hope to see you then!
If anyone would like to subscribe to The Lutheran Woman Today and join a circle for
Bible Study, please contact Janis Dachenhaus at 419.758.3328 and she will get you the
necessary information. The one-year rate is $12.00.
Have a good rest of the summer!

June 2005 Our General Meeting will
be held on Thursday, June 2 with a potluck beginning at 6:30 p.m. Oneta Wiechers will
be here to share her experiences at CCNO.
May 2005 Finally, some warmer weather,
lots of spring flowers and soon all the trees will be green! God is good. A reminder - our Northwest
Ohio Synodical Women's Convention will be May 14, 2005 at St. Mark's, Bowling Green. Lots
of interesting items on the agenda. Registration deadline is MAY 2. Forms are on the
bulletin board by the church office. This is a one-day-only event and close to home -
it would be good to have a good turnout from Emanuel. Our June picnic and
General Meeting is on Thursday, June 2 with Martha Circle as hostesses. See you there!
February 2005
Anyone ready for spring? We have certainly been blessed with lots of that white stuff
and below-freezing temperatures; but this is winter and SPRING is just around the
corner!
A reminder - our General Meeting is March 3 at 7:30 p.m. with Melinda Dachenhaus
from Hope Services as our guest. Hope to see you there!
We will be getting information soon regarding our Spring Assembly on April 30, 2005
at St. James, Payne, Ohio. Mark your calendars and plan to attend! Our own Rita
Schweinhagen is the Maumee Valley Conference President this year.
Thank you to all who are helping deliver Meals on Wheels - the weather is always a
challenge, and we pray for everyone’s safe journey.
Thanks to all of our circles for serving cookies and coffee after our Lenten services.

January 2005
Is anyone ready for spring yet? We have certainly been blessed with some good ol' winter
weather the past few weeks.
You will soon be receiving your WELCA booklet for 2005. If anyone has any questions,
please check with one of your board members and they will get an answer for you.
Our next general meeting will be on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. with Naomi
Circle in charge of refreshments. Melinda Dachenhaus from Hope Services will be with
us to share what exactly is offered at their new facility. It should be a very interesting
evening.
If anyone needs a ride -- please call one of your board members, and we will get you to the
church and back home. In case you don't know who they are:
We know it is not easy getting out this time of year - so PLEASE call....we will be happy
to take care of transportation for you.
Please check your new booklet for your new circle - we always like to encourage everyone
to take some time and participate.

November 2004
Dear Women of Emanuel,
How quickly times goes by. Yes, this is my last time to tell you how much all your help
has been appreciated by everyone at Emanuel. Going off the Board will be Carma DeCair
and Marilyn Fretz. Thank you for two years of dedicated service. We also say thanks to
the Nominating Committee, Filling Home reps, and last but not least, the ladies behind
the scenes, our Altar Guild.
Our donations of blankets and kits weighed in at 270 pounds for Lutheran World Relief.
Thanks to Marilyn Manahan and all who helped.
Please make a special effort to attend our December 2 General Meeting. We will have our
installation of officers, an hors d'oeuvres potluck. As a special treat Larry Whatley
from the Cherry Street Mission will be here. We would request hygiene products for both
men and women as a love offering. Bring a friend - we'll have fun. We are hoping that
our new minister and his wife will join us.
Carma is taking offerings for our missionary, and Filling Home Guild memberships may still
be turned in. These may both be done by putting them in specially marked envelopes and
placing them in the offering plate on Sunday mornings.
A special thanks to Pastor Alan for the spiritual help he has given us this past year -
yes we will miss you.
A warm welcome to Pastor & Mrs. Castello - may your stay at Emanuel be a long and loving
one.
May the Holy Spirit be with Nancy and all the new officers in the coming year.
I thank God for all of you!
